Light and darkness
Week two in the MTC has us learning how to digitize images. We work with a fancy camera and a computer to capture images from a variety of documents--journals, court records, school records--just to give you some ideas. It's been interesting and stressful at times. Especially on Wednesday when we had our records audited to see how we were doing. We passed, but we also learned ways to improve the quality of our work. Friday we traveled to Church Headquarters to meet the staff over the program. That concludes our training. Now we're ready to go.

First Week in the MTC
Wow, who would have guessed that two teachers would be going back to school to learn rather than to teach! It's been a great week. We have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about missions and missionary work. We've even had the opportunity to teach a couple of lessons to "investigators"--actually volunteers from the community. The experiences were amazing. We both have commented on how much we have enjoyed feeling the spirit and learning to recongize how to meet the needs of those we teach.
At lunch time we are frequently studying while eating. It has been great to enjoy the outside weather rather than be in a building all day long. An added benefit is being able to see some of the Elders we knew were in the MTC at the same time. It has been fun to talk with them.
Our evening hours have been filled with computer classes and a devotional featuring Elder Jay Jensen of the 70, who spoke on the history of missionary discussions. It was an insightful talk.
